Thank You For A Successful Tournament
I wanted to thank everyone that to came to Edmonton for the 2008 Canadian Field Lacrosse Championships. From all accounts the tournament was a success. The weather held off, the teams played hard and all had a good time. Much of the success was due to the commitment of the teams and their coaches, the officials and the parents that supported the Athletes commitment to play at this level.
Personally the success would have not been possible without the commitment of all the volunteers, from our CLA Convener to the Ball Boys that dedicated hundreds of hours of time to have this event succeed in such a positive manner.
Congratulations to all the teams and individual performances. And a big THANK YOU to each and every volunteer. As well as our major sponsors Alberta Recreation, Sport and Wildlife Foundation, City of Edmonton, Canadian Lacrosse Association and the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council. This could not have been done without you.

The Edmonton Razorbacks Field Lacrosse Organization has been awarded the 2008 Nationals, including the 2008 Alumni Cup and the 2008 First Nations Trophy. Field lacrosse teams from across Canada will compete and celebrate together August 29th to September 1st, 2008.
Edmonton is an international centre for sporting excellence, as well as an ideal place to live, to work, and to visit. We are proud to offer a variety of outdoor and indoor arenas, stadiums, sports fields and recreation centres. At the core of our city is the largest stretch of urban parkland in North America, complete with multi-use trails for cycling, running, walking and skiing. Our population of over one million people is an enthusiastic and diverse base of sports enthusiasts and potential spectators.
Edmonton has shown tremendous support for a wide range of world-class sporting events, including the FIFA U-20 Championships, the ITU Triathlon World Cup, and the World Men's Curling Championships. We are excited to welcome lacrosse players and fans this summer for the 2008 Canadian Lacrosse Association Field Lacrosse Championships.
